QED Skincare & Treatments
One of the perks of being a beauty writer is that you sometimes get to experience the most divine skincare treatments. Three weeks ago was one such week! I was able to experience the Wrinkle Rewind Anti-Ageing Facial with QED Skincare. Founded by Pharmacist Shoshana Eisner, so you know the skincare is scientifically proven, QED Skincare combines the best of nature and science to really meet skins needs. All hand-blended, the products are unscented (more about that later) and cruelty-free. The formulas combine natural ingredients (including 100% pure oils), with a maximum of 1% non-toxic synthetics, to create high performance skincare free from Parabens, Sulphates, Mineral Oils and Formaldehyde (it should be noted that a lot of the products are 100% natural). The range, whilst suitable for all skin types, is especially good for sensitive skin, and those with skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, acne, and rosacea (in fact the brand started with a Rosacea Cream, and grew from there). As the range is designed for skin conditions rather than specific ages, products across the range are suitable for anyone from 12 right up to their 90’s.
Before the facial, I was asked what music I would like, to help me enjoy the experience most fully – a lovely personal touch. The Wrinkle Rewind Anti-Ageing Facial started with the used the No-Rinse Hydrating Cleanser (it wipes off with cotton squares, so great for camping etc, as well as at home), the Deep Hydration Exfoliator then swept away any dry and rough skin so the serum-infused 5 Minute Facial Clay Mask Hydrate + Firm could go to work. While this dried, a gorgeous hand and arm exfoliation and massage had me in a dreamy bliss. Once the mask was removed, the antioxidant and vitamin rich Wrinkle Rewind Repair Serum (with Camellia Oil, Vitamin E, and Evening Primrose Oils) was applied to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and correct and prevent sun damage. Finally the treatment was completed with the Wrinkle Rewind Day Cream, designed to hydrate dry mature skin (it’s available in a rich and ultra rich formula too), and the Wrinkle Rewind Eye Cream, which helps to lift and firm the delicate skin around your eye area, whist also reducing dark circles and puffiness (what a multi-tasker!).
Now the best part of the treatment (well, one of the best parts – it was all pretty good) was that, given the products are unscented (they contain the natural scent of the ingredients), I was able to choose my own scent for the products for the facial, based on the scents I like best. This idea came from a pamper session experienced by Shoshana when the salon used products with a scent she was not fond of, and it ruined the immersive experience of the pamper session. Lightbulb moment – have customers choose a scent (from 12 mixtures available, or you can mix any of the 12 together too) and personalise the treatment with an aroma they enjoy. You can also have these scents added to the take-home products as well (or for sensitive skin leave them with their natural scent). I chose the gorgeous Damascus Rose & Lavender, which has a blend of 9 essential oils.
While you do have to be Sydney based (or visiting) to enjoy the treatments, and the salon is currently closed due to the Covid-19 restrictions, QED Skincare do ship the products around Australia.
