It sounds like quite a few of us are going to emerge from this Covid-19 isolation looking significantly better than when we went in, if recent posts and skincare sales are anything to go by. And why not – we have all this time at home (even if we are working), we may as well put it to good use.
I’ve been using a trio of Paula’s Choice Products to get rid of a few stubborn skin issues that just don’t seem to want to go away. Clogged pores that keep dull skin in place, and a few patches of pigmentation. I’ve started with the best-selling, cult Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant. The Salicylic Acid helps to effectively unclogs pores, optimising skin renewal and clarity. The fast-acting exfoliator helps to smooth skin tone, and refine texture, and can be used by most skin types (if you have sensitive skin, always do a patch test first). 118ml RRP $38.01. To target the really stubborn areas (milia and dry skin patches), I’ve been applying the Skin Perfecting BHA 9 Treatment at night. The Treatment delivers a sustained release of Salicylic Acid that works to improve the appearance of stubborn skin concerns such as enlarged or clogged pores, bumps, milia, and patches of rough, dry skin. 9ml RRP $54.00. As with any products containing Hydroxy Acids (Alpha or Beta), it’s important to use sunscreen while using them, so I’ve been protecting my skin with the Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid. The lightweight fluid provides broad-spectrum SPF 15 sun protection, and contains key antioxidants and plant extracts to help fight external stressors that can lead to skin ageing. 60ml RRP $38.01.
I’ve been really happy with how well the products are working. I’ve been trying to get rid of some of the stubborn dry patches and pigmentation for a while, and it’s really worked on the dry patches. Still early days for the pigmentation (and as we know, this does take time), so I need to keep going, but they do seem to be less visible.
