After a childhood spent in the Australian sun, I have pigmentation that has left my skin dull and unevenly toned. We all know Niacinamide and Vitamin C are skincare powerhouses, especially good for mature skin. Niacinamide helps to reduce melanocyte activity and melanin transfer to skin’s surface, while protecting skin barrier and reducing fine lines and wrinkles, whilst Vitamin C helps protect against damage from free radicals, brightens skin and helps to boost collagen production.
Olay has put these 2 ingredients together in one product, resulting in a breakthrough range, powered by bioavailable technology, that shows proven brightening results in just 28 days. The range consists of a new Olay Niacinamide + Vitamin C Moisturiser, new Olay Niacinamide + Vitamin C Eye Cream, and existing Olay Niacinamide + Vitamin C Super Serum. Added ingredients Palmitoyl Pentapeptide helps to boost collagen production, smooths skin texture and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, Lactic Acid (in the Cream) helps to regenerate the skin’s surface improving texture and reducing pigmentation issues, and Glycerin helps to increase moisture levels and improves moisture retention to keep skin hydrated throughout the day. Together the range helps to visibly brighten skin, with the Super Serum helping to reduce melanin production and hyperpigmentation, the lightweight Moisturiser helps to even out skin tone and smooth texture, whilst the fast-absorbing, gel-like Eye Cream helps to hydrate and brighten skin around the eye area. Formulated with no added mineral oils, parabens, phthalates or synthetic dyes, this is one range well worth a try if you want to reduce pigmentation. 3 simple, easy steps to brighter skin – brilliant for the time-poor. Olay Niacinamide + Vitamin C Super Serum 30ml RRP $59.99. Olay Niacinamide + Vitamin C Moisturiser 50g RRP $59.99. Olay Niacinamide + Vitamin C Eye Cream 15ml RRP $59.99. Available from Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Coles and Woolworths.
I have been using the range for 3 weeks now (just shy of the 28 days), and I can already see a noticeable difference in my skin. It has a luminous glow (I actually removed some foundation I had put on to go out recently – I just thought my skin looked so much better without it), and the pigmentation has started to soften (slowly, but that’s OK – it didn’t appear overnight, so it will take time to fade). The Eye Cream is so wonderfully cooling and hydrating, whilst the Moisturiser sinks into my skin and hydrates quickly (I will need to add a Serum for Winter for a boost of hydration – my skin does get super dry in the depths of Winter). This is one range I will keep using across the cooler months and into Spring to help reduce pigmentation and keep the luminous glow.
