Did you know that on average, every Australian uses 130kg of plastic each year. Of this, only 9% of plastic is recycled and up to 130,000 tonnes finds its way into our waterways and oceans. With this in mind, I’ve been trying to find earth friendly beauty products this year, to support my personal eco friendly beliefs, and I’ve just unearthed (pun very much intended), a brilliant hair care brand with a philosophy that aligns perfectly.
Australian made and owned My Soda has quality, plant-based hair care, available in 3 variants – Hydrate, Smooth or Cleanse, and a better-for-the-environment promise, with its clever refill packs designed to reduce plastic waste by 80%. Not only are the Shampoo and Conditioner bottles made from recycled plastic, but they are designed to be refilled, to stop them ending up in landfill. My Soda also ranges soft fill refill Shampoo and Conditioner pouches in the Hydrate and Smooth variants, and the pouches are recyclable. As you would expect with an eco conscious brand, the products are vegan and cruelty free, and contain no Parabens, SLES & ALS, Harsh Detergents, Petrochemical Cleansers, or Mineral Oils. The fresh fruity scent is an added bonus.
Just like skin, hydrated hair is happy hair, and I’ve been trialing the My Soda Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner. My verdict – my hair is so soft and nourished, even with the wintery weather. I’m really happy with how well these products hydrate my hair, and the eco philosophy of the brand – will I keep using these – yes definitely!
