We have fallen in love with the first Limited Edition collection of 12 Designer Lipsticks which has just launched for L’Oreal Paris, in a collaboration with Balmain Paris. The collection features 12 Colour Riche lipsticks in edgy, matte shades, in a collectible case, designed by Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing. The 12 lipstick shades are designed to explore 3 femininities –  the Safari, Rock, and Couture Tribes. The Safari shades feature earthy tones of khaki, burnt orange, nude, and brown, housed in a green and gold lipstick case. They are perfect for wearing with animal prints and neutrals. The Rock Collection features bolder, vampy shades, of dark brown, red-brown, blue and purple, housed in a blue and gold case. The shades are perfect for creating bold edgy looks, and the Couture collection are 4 shades hot off the runway, to create high-fashion looks which are very “now”. Shades of rose gold, peach, high impact red, and purple give you the confidence and liberation to create your look, your own way. Elegantly housed in a black and gold case, they are oh-so Couture.

Whilst this may sound like a collection for women under 40, there are several very wearable shades to suit a more mature woman. We love Fever (burnt orange), and Urban Safari (a universally flattering nude) from the Safari Tribe, Power (a gorgeous red-brown) from the Rock tribe, and Confession (a stunning rich peach), Domination (a bold, flattering red), and Confidence (a soft, pretty rose gold) from the Couture Collection. All of these shades add a modernity and fashion-forwardness to your day and evening looks. As for the blues, purples, and khakis – if we don’t feel like rocking them ourselves (I’m thinking about the khaki!), I’m sure we all have daughters nieces, and granddaughters who will love them.
