The A’kin story began in Australia in 1987, when co-founder, botanical chemist Will Evans, saw a gap in the market for pure, high quality and effective natural beauty products. In 1994 sister brand Al’chemy was launched, offering a range of truly natural hair care products. Shortly after A’kin was launched in 2002 utilising the same pioneering technologies and leading the way in natural skincare.
The A’kin philosophy is simple; pure, authentic and beautifully aromatic skincare, crafted without parabens, sulfates, silicones, DEA, mineral oil, artificial colours or fragrances. Enriched with botanical extracts, the skincare is designed to nourish and enhance the appearance of your skin, just as nature intended.
Since A’kin launched, they have dedicated themselves to cruelty free practices and products, ensuring that all parties they work with follow the same strict procedures. The products are 100% vegan and do not use palm oil or any kind of animal by-products such as honey or beeswax. A’kin are committed to reducing their carbon footprint and make every effort to minimise waste. They make a conscious effort to avoid excess packaging where possible and use recyclable containers.

We love A’kin products for the fact that they leave out so many ingredients that can react with your skin, so it’s great for your skin especially in your 40’s and 50’s and into your 60’s when skin can experience so many changes. We also love the brand for not using palm oil, so not contributing to the deforestation in regions such as South-East Asia, and South America, which can lead to the loss of natural habitat for some of the world’s most vulnerable species. Award winning A’kin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil is certified organic, and made from rosa canina seed extracts that deeply nourish and moisturise your skin. The oil contains 80 per cent highly potent essential oils including omega 3, 6, and 9 to help fight the appearance of wrinkles and scars and increase skin suppleness and elasticity. It also contains pro vitamin A and vitamin E to help create smoother, firmer skin. It can also be used to reduce the appearance of stretch marks, rosacea and blemishes. A’kin Lifting Eye Cream is an eye cream that is perfect for more mature eyes. The formula helps to lift and revitalise the eye area to combat the signs of ageing. The formula is enriched with echium oil, camu camu, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C to lift and smooth out wrinkles and brighten the eye area, which can become dull with age as cell turnover decreases. For bodies that are experiencing dryness, A’kin Replenishing Body Cream is a wonderful deeply moisturising lotion with vipers bugloss oil (the premier source of omega 3, 6 and 9 essential fatty acids), and moisturising shea butter. It also contains vitamin B5, Australian cold pressed certified organic avocado oil and calming lavender oil. If you have found your skin getting more sensitive as you get older, or you just want to use a more natural product, A’kin Cedarwood & Geranium Natural Deodorant provides odour- neutralising care with plant-based ingredients, is great for all types of skin, and is formulated without many of the skin irritating ingredients, so it’s great for sensitive skin too. The natural deodorant contains a delicate blend of Geranium, Cedarwood and Patchouli oil selected for their deodorising properties. For the time-poor amongst us, A’kin Purifying Gel Cleanser is a gentle pH balanced cleansing gel combining sandalwood, orange flower and witch hazel for a non-drying formula that effectively removes excess oil, make-up and impurities (so you don’t need to use a separate cleanser), leaving skin your skin clear, radiant and fresh. Suitable for normal, combination, and oily skin types.
