Bronzers
Now that the weather is warming up and Spring is truly here in Australia, many women are turning to Bronzers, to achieve a “just back from the French Riviera dahhhhling” glow, without the sun exposure. Bronzers are so plentiful on the Australian market, it can be a bit hard to choose. So what should you look for in a Bronzer? Here are some tips that might make it a bit easier:
Powder Bronzers
By far the most plentiful (and by default popular) products in Australia are Powder Bronzers. They are easy to use, and offer the opportunity for buildable cover. Powder bronzers are also great if you have combination or oilier skin, as they mattify your skin, when used on bare skin. Powder bronzers also work well over makeup for any skin type – you simply sweep over your face after applying primer and foundation. Powder bronzers don’t require any commitment, as they wash off. Some great products to try are bronzers such as Guerlain Terracotta Sun Trio Bronzing Palette, featuring light medium and deep shades, so you can bronze across the year, and contour and highlight different parts of your face and decolletage. 10g RRP $96.00. There are skincare benefits in Dr. Hauschka Bronzing Powder, a sheer powder, which adds a translucent bronzed effect to your skin, and is buildable. The formula combines mineral pigments with nourishing botanical ingredients such as witch hazel and sage to soothe, protect and comfort your skin, whilst leaving it sun kissed and glowing. 10g RRP $59.00. The Natio Glowing Bronzer Palette (limited edition) has a range of soft golden and dusky bronze shades to add a glow to neutral to warm skin tones. Five bronzer shades and a soft highlighter allow you to maintain your glow as your natural colour builds across summer. 12g RRP $19.95. Max Factor Bronzing Powder has a sheer and sun-kissed finish, and suits all skin tones, so it’s perfect for anyone. The finish allows it to be worn alone on bare skin for a natural sun-kissed effect, or over foundation for an extra high impact glow. Available in 2 shades. 21g RRP $24.95.
Liquid Bronzers
Liquid Bronzers are easy to apply, tend to last longer (although some are wash off – check the packaging to be sure), and can allow you to go make up free at the beach or on casual weekends – they are perfect for the Australian lifestyle. Liquid Bronzers allow you to maintain the same shade over your face, neck and decolletage. Liquid bronzers are also great for drier skins, as they can be mixed with moisturisers or foundation for added benefits. Some liquid bronzers that make the grade are Dr. Hauschka Translucent Bronzing Tint, a special liquid minerals product that can be mixed with any face or body cream for a fresh, healthy glow. This liquid tint highlights the natural beauty of all skin tones and is suitable for all skin types. The tint can be used mixed with any Dr. Hauschka moisturiser (1-3 drops to control colour depth) or used on it’s own – if mixed with moisturiser it lasts a really long time, so is great value for money. Voila – you have an instant sun-glow effect. 30ml RRP $65.00. Kiss pale skin goodbye with Guerlain Terracotta Joli Teint. Whilst the packaging of Guerlain Terracotta Joli Teint Foundation indicates it’s a foundation, we’ve included it as a liquid bronzer as it’s really a light fluid, and when mixed with your moisturiser, it becomes a fabulous instant bronzer, so it’s a brilliant 2-in-1 summer product. Colour pigments in the 5 available shades add a sun-kissed glow to any complexion, whilst the SPF 20 ensures your skin stays protected in the sun. 30ml RRP $74.00.
