Born in the USA – US Beauty Brands

It’s almost US Independence Day, and to celebrate, we’re bringing you our favourite US Beauty Brands. From brands that have been around for a while to some relative new ones, we’ve scoured the country from the East Coast to the West. We just love what these brands bring to beauty. Some of our favourite US beauty brands even had overseas origins. Which ones were they? Read on below to find out, and you might just find out something about your favourite brand(s), or discover a new one. Is your favourite on the list? Do you agree with ours? Let us know in the comments below.

Maybelline New York

We just love hearing how companies started out, and this story is just gorgeous (and we just learned that Maybelline started in Chicago, not New York!). In 1913, young Chicago chemist Thomas Williams had a dilemma. His older sister, Maybel, was in love with a man who was in love with someone else. Maybel Williams did her best to attract this man—she used petroleum jelly on her lashes and brows to enhance them. Thomas decided to help her increase her allure by adding carbon dust to the petroleum jelly, which darkened her lashes and brows more dramatically. The product worked and in 1915, Maybel got her man and Thomas founded what would become the global industry giant, Maybelline, named after the bride and her favourite beauty aid. More beauty products followed, including the Maybelline Cake Mascara, Eye Pencil, coloured eyeshadows and matching eyeliners, and the rest is history. Maybelline New York is the number one global cosmetics brand and is now available in over 129 countries worldwide. With over 200 products to choose from, what are our favourite Maybelline products? With such an iconic heritage, one just has to be a Mascara. We love the Great Lash Mascara in Very Black. Launched over 40 years ago, the instantly recognisable pink and green bottle has graced many a lash (it was actually my first mascara as a teen). Containing ingredients to condition whilst it thickens, Great Lash Mascara doubles the thickness of your lashes. 12.7ml RRP $12.95. As you mature, you may think you’ve left enlarged pores and oiliness behind, but is isn’t always so. To refine pores, we love Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation, which contains micro-powders to control shine, and blur pores leaving you with a natural, smooth, even look. The formula is allergy tested and non-comedogenic. Available in 16 shades. 30ml RRP $19.95.

Estée Lauder

Mrs. Estée Lauder started her business empire with four skin care products and a simple premise – that every woman can be beautiful. Armed with that philosophy, with perseverance, creativity and passion, a legend was born. Estée started selling her skin care beauty salons, demonstrating her products on women while they were sitting under hair dryers. In 1946 she and husband Joseph Lauder officially launched the Company, and a year later they got their first major order – $800 worth of products from Saks Fifth Avenue. From such relatively humble beginnings, Mrs Lauder changed the face of the cosmetics industry. The launch of Youth Dew Bath Oil in 1953 changed the way fragrance was sold (bought by women for themselves rather than as a gift from others). The Gift With Purchase that we now see throughout the beauty industry was the brainchild of Estée Lauder – to introduce new products to customers, and new customers to products. Estée Lauder had a hands on approach to her business, attending store openings, instructing Beauty Advisors, and speaking to customers directly. Now available in over 150 countries worldwide, the Estée Lauder brand is synonymous with style, quality and beauty. Our favourite Estée Lauder products were fairly easy to choose, as we have loved them for over 20 years. Advanced Night Repair is recognised around the world. The “little brown bottle of goodness” is a skin saviour , with ingredients to repair, renew, and hydrate your skin while you sleep. The powerful ingredients help to reduce the look of all key signs of aging, leaving you with radiant, glowing skin.  50ml RRP $150.00. With notes of rose, lily and tuberose, Estée Lauder’s Beautiful has been the choice of many a bride in Australia on their wedding day. We love the combination of more than 2000 flowers from 19 varieties, and the citrusy warm notes in the fragrance. It really is a classic scent. EDP Spray 75ml RRP $130.00.

Jergens

A relative newcomer to the Australian market (the brand only launched here in 2014), Jergens was founded in Cincinnati Ohio, as a Soap company in 1882 – this is a brand with heritage! With the first moisturiser being developed in 1901, Jergens has over 100 years of experience in helping women achieve soft, smooth, hydrated skin. The brand later expanded into bath additives, hand creams, and body wash, before becoming the powerhouse US bodycare brand it is today.  With a global distribution, Jergens is poised to take Australia by storm. We love the Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturiser for Extra Dry Skin. It’s simply brilliant for Winter-dry skin (although it can be used all year round), with enriching vitamins C, E, abnd B5, and Jergens HYDRALUENCE™ blend combine to help repair, heal, and nourish extra dry skin, and lock in moisture for up to 48 hours. 400ml RRP $8.99. Newly launched BB Body Cream is a multi-acting formula with 5 skin benefits, that provides an all-in-one solution to body skin concerns. It instantly hydrates and illuminates your skin, whilst over 5 days, it has skin evening, correction and firming benefits. Available in 2 skin tone types – all light skin tones, and medium-deep skin tones, the clever formula, adjusts the evening and correcting benefits, for your skin tone. 221ml RRP $14.99.

Bobbi Brown

In 1991, Bobbi Brown, a successful Makeup Artist, created a range of 10 beige pigmented lipsticks under the brand Bobbi Brown Essentials, which were stocked in Bergdorf Goodman in New York. Success followed success with the universally flattering, high quality makeup products, and in 1995, the Estee Lauder Group bought the company (not bad for only 4 years in the market). It’s still less than 30 years since the brand launched, and it now employs over 5,200 makeup artists around the world. The best selling product, the Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner sells 2 products every 2 minutes somewhere around the world. Our favourite product just has to be a lipstick doesn’t it? We love the new(ish) Crushed Lip Colour in the super flattering Cabana shade (a soft grapefruit pink). The Crushed Lip Color lipsticks leave a stained matte flush of colour on your lips that lasts all day. Vitamins C and E leave your lips hydrated and soft. 3.4g RRP $46.00. We also love the Bronze Shimmer Brick (the warm weather isn’t complete without it!), the shimmering colours brush over your face for a natural light or golden glow, so you can use it all season long. As your natural colour develops, go deeper within the shades of the Shimmer Brick. If you’re travelling, it doubles (triples?) as a blush and an eyeshadow, so just pack this compact, and off you go. 10.3g RRP $75.00.

Kiehl’s

The Kiehl’s branding – “Since 1851” is a giveaway that this brand has been around for a long time – 165 years to be exact! The original store launched as Brunswick Apotheke in the East Village of New York, and was purchased by apprentice John Kiehl in 1894 and re-named Kiehl’s Pharmacy. John Morse, apprentice to John Kiehl bought the business in 1921, and Beauty products followed, with the original formula for Musk Oil launching as “Love Oil”. During the 1960’s, many of the brands cult products were launched, including the alcohol-free Calendula Toner, and Andy Warhol’s favourite Blue Astringent. During the late 1990’s and into the 2000’s, Kiehl’s put its money where its mouth is and produced products with proceeds supporting various philanthropic causes. Kiehl’s is now well known for its efficacious solutions-driven skincare. What do we love from Kiehl’s? Our favourite product would have to be the iconic Midnight Recovery Concentrate. As the name suggests, the Serum is used at night, and is a powerful complex of pure essentials oils (including Lavender, to help promote sleep, and soothe skin), to help replenish and restore your skin by morning. Over time, firmness and elasticity are improved. 30ml RRP $66.00. Another anti-ageing favourite of ours is the new Kiehl’s Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Overnight Face Mask – it’s brilliant for more mature skin. The velvety smooth, divinely scented formula contains two of natures powerful botanicals – Hibiscus Seed Extract, to help deliver smoother, firmer looking skin overnight, and sustainably sourced Ginger Leaf Extract to hydrate skin, and help to diminish the look of fine lines over time. You awaken in the morning to luxuriously hydrated skin that glows with a dewy sheen. 100ml RRP $82.00. The best bit is both of these products do all the hard work while you get your beauty sleep – brilliant!

Revlon

In 1932, in New York, brothers Charles and Joseph Revson, along with chemist CR Lachman, would change the beauty industry forever. Revlon began with a single product – revolutionary nail enamel that came in colors other than red. Soon, the colorful, opaque shades were seen on women’s fingertips everywhere, and the global giant was born. Expanding into lipstick in the 1950’s, brought glamour to the masses, showing everyday women could be just as compelling as international stars. The 1970’s saw Revlon add Eye and Face makeup to its range, and the launch of the best-selling Charlie fragrance. Partnering with some of the world’s most famous supermodels in the 1980’s, including Cindy Crawford and Iman, brought a fresh glamour to the brand as it entered the mass market for the first time. Now Revlon is one of the most recognisable beauty brands in the world, and a mainstay in women’s handbags everywhere. We love the Revlon Youth FX Fill + Blur Foundation, a lightweight, yet full coverage foundation, that instantly diminishes the appearance of dark spots, age spots, and hyperpigmentation. The hydrating formula also works to fill in and blur lines and wrinkles with micro-fillers and optical diffusers. Available in 9 shades. 30ml RRP $39.95. We also love the Revlon Eyes, Lips and Cheeks Palette, available in 3 different shade combinations (for Winter we’re loving the Berry in Love combination – pictured), with 6 co-ordinating eyeshadows, 2 lipsticks, 2 lipglosses, and a blush to match all, you can create multiple looks at home, or on the go, as it’s a perfect handbag size. 17g RRP $34.95.

Olay

Today, Olay is one of Proctor and Gamble’s biggest brands, and one of the world’s leading skincare brands, however it was actually the invention of South African chemist Graham Wulff, who created the original formula in 1952 for his wife who wanted a lighter formula moisturiser, under the original name Oil of Olay. In the late 1950’s and through the 1960’s, Oil of Olay rolled out around the world. The 1980’s saw the introduction of cleansing products and products for sensitive skin, whilst the 1990’s saw the brand adopt the Olay name, and move from pure hydration into anti-ageing skincare. The 2000’s saw the Olay brand develop and launch products that work at the cellular level to treat the root causes of skin concerns. Fresh skin is younger looking skin, so one of our two favourite products is the Olay Regenerist Thermal Skin Mini-Peel, which, when activated by water, gently self-heats the product, to warm your skin. The mini-peel gently cleanses and exfoliates your skin to deliver similar benefits to a professional mini-peel, at home. 125ml RRP $19.99. We also prefer a bit of sun protection with our anti-ageing skincare, so we love the new Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting UV Cream SPF 30. The anti-ageing formula hydrates to help rebuild cellular surface structure and restore firmness, regenerating a more youthful appearance, whilst the SPF 30 helps block damaging rays to help protect skin and maintain collagen’s structural integrity. Powerful anti-oxidants help protect the skin’s surface. 50g RRP $48.99.

Elizabeth Arden

A legendary innovator and a tireless entrepreneur, Miss Elizabeth Arden established the American beauty industry a century ago. Born Florence Nightingale Graham (true story), she traveled from rural Canada to New York City, where she opened the first Red Door salon on Fifth Avenue in 1910. Elizabeth Arden believed that “To be beautiful is the birthright of every woman.” Elizabeth Arden’s list of beauty innovations is long. She was the first to introduce eye makeup to the women of America and pioneered the creation of the “makeover.” With the launch of Ardena Skin Tonic, the company became the first to incorporate its founder’s name into a product name. Miss Arden developed the first travel-size beauty products, and was the first in the cosmetics business to train and send out a team of traveling demonstrators and saleswomen. By the 1930s, Miss Arden had opened Red Door salons in the majority of the fashion capitals around the globe, and the brand was amongst the most well known in the world. With such a strong and proud heritage, it’s only fitting that our favourite product (we have used it for over 25 years) is the iconic Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant. The original and best (it was created in 1930), Eight Hour Cream is a wonder product. It soothes chapped lips, softens cuticles and hang nails, relieves dry skin anywhere, and can even be uses to treat abrasions. 50ml RRP $28.00. We love a good moisturiser, and the Ceramide Lift and Firm Day Cream is an anti-ageing wonder. The Cream is super-plumping thanks to CPT (Cellular Plumping Technology). The blend of SNAP-8, a new peptide, and a collagen-supporting naturally-derived extract is a powerful skin plumper. It works to smooth and relax the appearance of surface lines as it targets deeper wrinkles to help firm, lift and redensify the look of skin. 50ml RRP $135.00.

Clinique

Clinique started in 1968 in New York, with the introduction of the now world-famous 3-Step Skin Care System, and the belief that great skin can be created. The system, was a daily cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising routine. It was the first ever dermatologist-created, allergy-tested, 100% fragrance-free collection of beauty products ever marketed (who can forget the on-counter Clinique skincare diagnostic tool? Click here for an updated trip down memory lane). Just one year later Clinique opened its first counter in the UK. In 1976 Clinique was the first prestige cosmetics company to recognise the different skin care needs of men and to provide them with a practical, approachable line of skin care – Skin Supplies for Men. Today Clinique’s mission is to be the most trusted Prestige beauty brand in the world, delivering high quality, effective, safe, Allergy Tested, Fragrance Free products that are designed for living and enhancing natural beauty. We love the Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Instant Facial, a gentle exfoliant we use twice a week after cleansing, which removes dullness, and leaves our skin super soft. Best of all, for mature skin, it speeds up the process of cell turnover, so your skin is left smoother and younger looking over time. 75ml RRP $68.00. To keep our face protected every day, and hyperpigmentation at bay, we love the Super City Block SPF 30+, a high protection daily sunscreen, in a lightweight formula that can be worn alone or under makeup (it is tinted). It provides UVA and UVB broad spectrum protection, and can be used by all skin types. 40ml RRP $40.00.

Pantene

Pantene is another of the powerhouse P&G brands to have its origins outside the US. Pantene was created in 1945 when Swiss parent company Hoffman-LaRoche launched a premium hair care line with panthenol as a key ingredient. The brand reached US shores during the 1960’s, and sold in upscale stores such as the Waldorf Astoria and Saks Fifth Avenue. In 1975, the iconic Pantene gold cap was launched (and still remembered all these years later), whilst the early ’80’s saw the brand elevate scientific expertise and hair health. The acquisition of the brand by P&G in the mid 1980’s saw distribution roll out into mass channels, and in the late 1980’s the brand launch in Australia with the “Hair so healthy it shines” tagline. Into the 2000’s and Pantene now has products which block damage to your hair, and is Australia’s biggest selling haircare brand. As hair ages, it gets drier and more coarse, so we love the Pantene Smooth & Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner, with Pro-V formula which combine to lock in moisture, smooth out your strands, and keep frizz at bay. The formulas help to repair damage, whilst deeply nourishing, to keep your hair sleep, smooth, and strong. Shampoo & Conditioner 350ml each RRP $6.99 each. To repair hair damage, we love to use the Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Intensive Hair Masque. The rich, nourishing formula helps to repair the look of damaged hair, laving it looking healthy, and shiny, and it looks more manageable. We use it twice a week to keep damage under control, so the tub lasts quite a while. 300ml RRP $10.99.

theBalm Cosmetics

theBalm Cosmetics is quite a new beauty brand – it’s less than 20 years old, and much newer than that in Australia. In 2004, Marissa Shipman, founder of theBalm, realised there were a few simple products she needed to help her look and feel glamorous all the time and if she needed them, other women probably did too. Not one to sit idle, Marissa decided to indulge her cosmetic curiosities, and she got on Amazon where she bought 11 books on how to make makeup and started mixing in her kitchen in San Francisco, California. “I went makeup crazy. I incorporated the company, worked out a budget, hired a chemist and designed a website.” She began integrating anti-aging ingredients, triple-milled pigments, fabulous scents…and theBalm was born. Fast forward eleven years, you can now find theBalm’s multi-tasking Paraben and Cruelty-Free beauty products worldwide. We absolutely love the way you can create multiple gorgeous looks with a single theBalm product. Our favourites are Meet Matt(e) Hughes (Volume 2), a clever play on words for a set of 6 mini liquid lipsticks, in long-lasting wearable shades from neutrals to bolds, so we can create any look, any time. Liquid Lipsticks 6 x 1.2ml each, RRP $29.95 for the set. Paired with the Foiled Again Eye Palette, and you’ve got a multitide of different day and night looks. The palette features a mix of 12 eyeshadows (with wonderful crime busting names), with 8 shiny and 4 matte gloriously wearable shades, which can be used wet or dry. Day looks, night looks, glam or neutral, you’re covered with this versatile palette. Palette 9.6g RRP $39.95. If you happen to love a particular shade of the Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipsticks, they also sell individually in a larger size – 7.4ml RRP $19.95.

it Cosmetics

it Cosmetics was founded by Jamie Kern Lima, a US TV news anchor, who developed hereditary Rosacea. Working under the harsh lights of TV, Jamie needed makeup that covered the redness of her skin, yet products either didn’t cover her skin completely, or were so thick they would creak and crease, which equals instant aging. The seed of an idea was sown, to create products that solved real beauty concerns, and gave women with problem skin the power to feel beautiful. Working with plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and skin rejuvenation specialists, the it Cosmetics brand creates makeup products as “colour-infused skincare formulas”, which are so skin-loving they look like your own skin, only better. it Cosmetics first launched on the QVC shopping channel in 2010, before rolling out into 307 ULTA Beauty stores in 2013, and since 2014 has been available in Australia! The award winning, clinically proven, problem solution based brand is also 100% cruelty free – not tested on animals. To see how effective it Cosmetics are, have a look at the before and after shots of founder Jamie Kern Lima here – the difference is amazing). We absolutely love it Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream SPF 50+. This divine product is infused with hyaluronic acid, natural botanicals, and antioxidants. The highly pigmented, multi-tasking full coverage cream covers everything, without creasing or cracking and leaves our skin with a healthy-looking glow. Developed with leading plastic surgeons, Your Skin But Better protects against both UVA and UVB rays, is bolstered by anti-aging properties and is clinically shown to improve skin texture, brightness and hydration. Available in 5 shades. 30ml RRP $61.00. We also love the Bye Bye Under Eye, a full coverage treatment concealer, with collagen, that delivers highly pigmented natural-looking perfect coverage. Bye Bye Under Eye uses Anti-Aging technology to help treat the appearance of lines, wrinkles and discolouration, conceal dark circles, age spots and redness, conceal facial imperfections without settling into lines and wrinkles, and helps to diffuse the appearance of wrinkles instantly. You have to try this to see how wonderful it really is. Available in 4 shades. 8g RRP $38.00.

Burt’s Bees

The Burt’s Bees story began in Maine about 30 years ago. Burt the Beekeeper was happily selling honey from the back of his truck. But fate had other ideas for the bearded hero when he met Roxanne Quimby (Burt’s Bees co-founder). Burt and Roxanne hit it off and before long she was making candles with unused wax from Burt’s beehives. From those original candles, to the iconic Beeswax Lip Balm, to over 180 products — the Burt’s Bees brand has been guided by a single principle – nature has the best answers. Burt’s Bees formulations support your skin with the nutrients it needs – and none of the chemicals it doesn’t. Burt’s Bees products help you put your best foot, lips, skin, hair and sense of well-being forward. Every day. Which of these gorgeous products is our favourite? The classic Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm is a proven everyday must-have. The 100% natural lip balm is infused with beeswax to condition, and vitamin E to moisturise your lips. With no parabens, phthalates, petrolatum or SLS, the lip balm doesn’t irritate sore lips. The end result is soothed, hydrated, and nourished lips. 4.25g RRP $6.95. Given it’s winter, and our skin is a little dry and irritated from the wind, we also love the Burt’s Bees Hydrating Sheet Mask. With key ingredients of Clary Sage, Kiwi Extract, and Willow Bark Extract, the 99% natural sheet mask instantly hydrates and helps improve your skin texture, leaving your skin soft and supple post-use. The mask is also dermatologist tested, non-comedogenic, and it’s not tested on animals. Single use Mask 9.35g RRP $9.95. Note – images not to scale.

Rodan + Fields

A leading skincare brand since being founded in the USA in 2002, RODAN+FIELDS success is based on their Multi-Med Therapy approach, the right ingredients, in the right formulation and used in the right order. Originally a Department Store brand, RODAN + FIELDS is now a social commerce brand, sold by Consultants in countries around the world. Dr Katie Rodan and Dr Kathy Fields developed anti-aging skincare brand RODAN+FIELDS to allow you to take control of your skin destiny. Regimens are designed to tackle three main skin concerns: Redefine regimen for the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, pores and loss of firmness, Reverse regimen for the appearance of dark spots, dullness and discolouration, and the Soothe regimen for sensitive skin. What are our favourite products? We absolutely love (love) the new RODAN + FIELDS Active Hydration Serum, which we’ve been using for 4 weeks now, and the increase in skin moisture and plumpness is amazing. Glycerin and cross-linked hyaluronic acid add a burst of hydration that lasts up to 8 hours, and keeps skin super nourished. 30ml RRP $148.00. We also love the newly released new generation Redefine AMP MD System, which now offers an easier, more gentle derma-rolling experience. The proprietary REDEFINE AMP MD System, featuring the non-invasive REDEFINE AMP MD Derma-Roller and REDEFINE Intensive Renewing Serum, safely and effectively amps up daily skincare routines giving skin a more youthful appearance. When used with the REDEFINE Regimen, the REDEFINE AMP MD System is clinically tested to help skin appear firmer and make lines and wrinkles less noticeable for a more luminous and refined appearance after 4 weeks of use. The system can be used on Face, neck and decolletage. System (Derma-Roller and Intensive Renewing Serum 60 Capsules) RRP $302.00.

Neutrogena

Neutrogena started on the road to success as a company called Natone, when founder Emanuelle Stolaroff started the small specialty beauty company in Los Angeles in 1930. Natone first supplied beauty salons, then in the 1940’s, retail stores. It was on a business trip to Europe in 1954, Stolaroff uncovered a mild, clear, soap that left no soap residue, and left skin with almost the same pH level as water itself. He arranged to import and distribute this soap in the USA, and by 1962 the Neutrogena Soap was so synonymous with the company that it changed its name to Neutrogena. Neutrogena branched out into liquid face wash and haircare, before diversifying into the broad range of skin, hair, and sun products it has today. We love the Neutrogena Beach Defence Water + Sun Barrier Lotion SPF 50, a wonderful sunscreen that not only provides high broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection from the sun’s most damaging rays, and offers up to 4 hours water resistance. It also forms a protective barrier that helps to defend against the drying effects of the beach, which is good for your skin. 198ml RRP $16.99. We also love the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturiser. With an innovative Progressive Release System, Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel continuously releases moisture to your skin for a full 24 hours. The light-weight gel cream formula with Hyaluronic Acid and Olive Extract leave your skin soft and supple with a healthy looking, radiant glow. 50g RRP $24.99.

CoverGirl

In the 1950s, the Noxzema Chemical Company of Baltimore, Maryland – known mainly for their Noxzema Skin Cream – began a program of diversification. In 1958, they launched the CoverGirl brand, and iconic CoverGirl Liquid Foundation (and then the Compressed Powder) quickly launched in drugstores in the USA. Targeting a youth market, and focusing on the “girl next door” looks the makeup created, the brand quickly gained a foothold in the American market. Lipsticks and other makeup lines followed during the 1960’s, and the brand used a range of models from Cybill Shepherd in the 60’s to Christie Brinkley in the 80’s, to more recently, Drew Barrymore, Ellen DeGeneres, and Katy Perry. The CoverGirl brand is now one of the most well known beauty brands in the world. Our favourite products? The revolutionary CoverGirl + Olay Simply Ageless 3 in 1 Foundation, which combines the benefits of skincare in a foundation. The formula helps to hydrate your skin, whilst providing a medium, buildable coverage, to reduce the look of fine lines, wrinkles, and discolourations. Available in 6 shades. 30ml RRP $22.95. The fabulous TruNaked Eyeshadow Palette in Goldens contains richly pigmented eyeshadow colours in a range of golden hues from neutral to smoky, and shimmer to matte, to allow you to create multiple, flattering looks from the one product. 6.5g RRP $22.95.

Peter Thomas Roth

The first-generation child of Hungarian parents, Peter was born into a heritage of skin care. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Peter’s family owned and operated two spa resorts in Hungary. When Peter launched his clinical skin care company in New York in 1993, he started by developing products with the basic soothing and healing properties of the many muds and minerals found in Hungarian thermal springs. Today, Peter Thomas Roth products honour these old-school remedies by improving on them with 21st-century ingredients, innovation and technology. A segment leader in the beauty industry, Peter Thomas Roth continues to corner the clinical market by merging innovative, cutting-edge technology with the skin care benefits of botanicals and other natural ingredients. Peter Thomas Roth uses Cucumber Extract for its detoxifying, hydrating and calming properties…9,000-year-old Irish Moor mud for its purifying effects…Rose plant stem cells to help repair and rejuvenate the appearance of aging, damaged skin…and 78% Hungarian thermal water from a secret spring deep below Hungary’s Carpathian Valley. A household name around the world, Peter Thomas Roth is sold in over 80 countries and is the number 1 exclusive skincare brand in Sephora China and Mexico, and the number 2 skincare brand in Sephora US. When skin needs a little TLC, we love the soothing properties of the Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask. Daily living, and sun exposure can result in dry, dull skin. Containing botanical extracts of cucumber, papaya, chamomile, and pineapple (to name a few), the Cucumber Gel Mask gently hydrates and detoxifies your skin, to keep it feeling cool and refreshed. 150ml RRP $73.00. Fittingly, our other favourite Peter Thomas Roth product is also a mask – the Hungarian Thermal Water Mineral-Rich Atomic Heat Mask, helps reduce the look of fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, uneven skin tone, and texture for smoother, healthier, and younger-looking skin. Using the famed mineral-rich Hungarian thermal water in this high-powered mask, cutting-edge technologies combine with a blend of natural Hungarian botanicals — including sunflower, evening primrose, apricot, sea buckthorn berry, and flaxseed extract, to help replenish, nourish, and moisturise skin. Kaolin clay and magnesium sulfate help open pores and draw out impurities in an invigorating burst of heat. 150ml RRP $80.00.

OPI

OPI was founded in 1981 by President & CEO George Schaeffer, who immigrated to the U.S. as a child from post-World War II Eastern Europe. OPI continues to be family-owned, with Schaeffer at the helm, and has grown to become the world leader in professional nail care. From its inception, OPI broke through nail industry barriers. Schaeffer was one of the first in the nail industry to focus on and limit sales of product to and through beauty professionals only. From the very beginning, OPI has shown its commitment to quality by putting batch numbers, instructions and ingredients on all of the products it sells. OPI is renowned globally for its Nail Lacquers, with the brilliant, chip-resistant, professional formula available in over 200 fashion-forward colors. With clever names that customers look forward to with each new Collection, OPI Nail Lacquers are beloved around the world, and trusted by professionals. For everyday wear, we love the Infinite Shine Tickle My France y, a gorgeous long wearing pinky-nude that can be worn to work, at weekends, evenings out – it just goes with everything. 15ml RRP $22.95.
