I was asked in mid-January if I wanted to take part in Arbonne’s 30 Days to Healthy Living program. I’d been struggling with motivation to exercise and eat more healthily – we have a long delayed pool project, and this combined with a wet Summer (that shows no signs of abating into Autumn) and a particularly busy December saw me with particularly low energy levels and making poor food choices, so I jumped at the chance to try the program.
The program is designed to act as a reset, helping you to establish healthier habits and a healthier lifestyle, to increase energy levels, manage weight, and generally help you feel better with clean, vegan nutrition. You are encouraged to write down your own goals (mine were increase energy and increase exercise), so you stay on track across the 30 days. Step 1 for me, before the program even started was to cut out caffeine – something I’d been meaning to do for a while – and I did this gradually over 2 weeks, so by the time I started the program I was caffeine free, and cut out alcohol (not so hard – I drink once every 2 months or so), and cut down on sugar (also not that hard for me – I’m a savoury person). I was gifted a range of nutritional products and starter recipes from Arbonne, to use over the 30 days, along with my own fresh fruits and vegetables, nutrient rich carbs and plant-based protein, and from February 1, I was on my way. Over the 30 days, I used the FeelFit Pea Protein (in shakes with water or almond milk) on a regular basis. This worked very well for me, as as a vegetarian, I often don’t get enough protein, and I did start to feel more energised after 2 weeks, and for the latter 2 weeks of the program. Other products trialled included CleanTox Tea – a wonderful calming herbal blend, Gut Health Digestion & Microbe Support Sachets, designed to help support gut health with botanicals, pre and probiotics, EnergyFizz Ginseng Fizz Sticks, in 3 flavours, with Ginseng, Guarana and Green tea, designed to help boost energy. These were great as I started to up my exercise and fitness across the 30 days. The GutHealth Fibre Support helps to support a healthy gut as you move through the 30 days. I generally have a healthy diet, and just used ¼ scoop per day to help with digestion. Finally, the BeWell Superfood Greens contains a blend of 36 fruits and vegetables in every scoop, and helps ensure you reach the recommended daily intake, with a little extra boost. The Arbonne 30 Days to Healthy Living Program starts with 4 core items (GutHealth Digestion & Microbiome Support, CleanTox Herbal Tea, FeelFit Pea Protein Shake, and EnergyFizz Ginseng Fizz Sticks), and then you chose 2 more items to suit your goals (CleanTox Gentle Cleanse, GutHealth Fibre Support or BeWell Superfood Greens). All products are vegan, cruelty-free and gluten free, and packed with botanicals. If this program sounds of interest, Arbonne are offering a saving of 40% off RRP for evergreen preferred clients. My thoughts – I was generally a healthy eater prior to starting the program, although I didn’t exercise enough, and did need to increase my uptake of a few vitamins and protein. The FeelFit Pea Protein Shake did increase my energy levels after 2 weeks, and I was able to increase my exercise considerably. I did have to work up to the full scoop (20g) recommended each day, as my intake was previously so low I couldn’t cope with a sudden increase to 20g. 1 week was all it took to get up to the level. I really enjoyed the effects of the CleanTox Tea and GutHealth Fibre Support as I moved across the month. A healthy gut is a happy gut, and I felt cleansed and my skin got clearer as the month progressed. This is a great program for anyone looking to reset and reenergise, and you can incorporate products into your day-to-day routine if needed. It is self-guided and easy to follow, and you can incorporate the parts you need for your health. Of course, if you are experiencing any health issues prior to starting the program, you should consult a healthcare professional prior to starting, and check in with them while you are on the program. I will likely use this program again next January to reset and re-energise for the year ahead. It’s like a gentle New Year’s resolution.
