The 5 Best CC Creams
We’ve recently written about the 5 Best BB Creams, and what BB Creams do (click here to read the post), and now we’re moving on in the alphabet to CC Creams. CC stands for “colour correcting”, and the creams are a lightweight formula (and feel lighter on your skin than a BB Cream), with a light, fluffy texture. CC Creams are designed to address and correct skin discolouration, such as redness, sallowness, and helping to conceal dark spots and imperfections. As with BB creams, many CC Creams have additional skincare benefits, so it is worthwhile looking for a CC Cream that not only colour corrects, but that also addresses any skincare needs you have – after all, if you can get a product to multi task, and save you time and money, why not we say. There are so many CC Creams on the market – here are our pick of the top 5 CC Creams (again, in no particular order):

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream SPF 15
If you suffer from multiple skin discolourations, Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream features three corrective pigments, to treat multiple colour concerns. The CC Cream has been formulated with apricot for anti-fatigue, green for anti-redness and white tea for dark spots and pigmentation. The white tea extract in the formula also acts as an energiser for tired dull skin. The finely coloured pigments blend naturally into your skin and hide blemishes, refining skin texture. Each shade has been developed with a touch of pink and has an airbrush style of action to help eliminate colour imperfections. The lightweight, oil-free formula also features SPF 15 to protect your skin against UVA and UVB rays. Available in three shades. 123 Perfect CC Cream SPF 15 30ml RRP $25.00.
So, now you know what a CC Cream is, and what it does. Do you use a CC Cream? If so, which one do you use? Why do you like it? Let us know in the comments below.
I think you also need to include in your reviews which are cruelty-free or vegan-certified and which are paraben-free, etc. These are factors that a lot of people are interested in now and should be made more aware of. Thanks
Hi Alex,
Thank you for your comments. Where we are able to find out if the products are Vegan friendly, Cruelty Free, or Paraben (and other ingredient free), we do try to drop this in. If you search Vegan, Cruelty Free, or Paraben, on the website, you should be able to find this information.
Thank you,
Beauty Over 40
I LOVE my Arbonne CC Cream. It’s super light and perfectly blends into my skin. And how incredible to have a CC cream that is also a sunscreen AND protects your skin from environmental pollution. Let alone the fact that it’s free from parabens, toxins and is completely vegan certified. Doesn’t get any better!
Is there any reason why some companies, eg Clinique, have taken their CC Creams off the market recently?
Hi Tricia,
Thank you for your comment.
Many companies have found that sales of their CC Creams don’t warrant them continuing to be stocked (this was the case for a few of the CC Creams we reviewed for this article). Australia is more a concealer market, and people tend to use concealers to colour correct. Having said that, CC Creams do still sell well for many companies, and they are continuing to stock them.We have contacted Clinique to see if poor sales were the reason they discontinued.
We hope this helps.
